About Sangam Productions
Sangam Productions was born out of a shared vision to blend cultures, generations, and creative forms in harmony. Co-founded by Nirvana Bista, an acclaimed guitarist, composer, and educator, and Gajendra Shahi, a visionary entrepreneur with a diverse background in business and a passion for music, Sangam Productions stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and cultural fusion.
The journey began with "Culture in Sync", a Newa jazz fusion project led by the renowned guitarist Hari Maharjan. Nirvana, along with other Australian musicians, performed with Hari Maharjan at Kathmandu’s Lord of the Drinks, setting the stage for what would become a groundbreaking musical journey. After witnessing the project's impact, Gajendra proposed forming a production house to amplify this unique fusion of sounds on a global scale. Thus, Sangam Productions was founded, with Nirvana as the Creative Director and Gajendra as the Executive Director.
At Sangam Productions, we believe in the confluence of ideas and cultures. "Sangam", meaning "confluence" in Nepali, symbolizes our deeper purpose: to create a space where traditional sounds meet contemporary expression, and where every project resonates with authenticity and innovation.
Our first milestone is bringing Nepali traditional music to international audiences, starting with the "Culture in Sync" performance at the Sydney Opera House Studio in June 2025. We're not just producing music; we're crafting experiences that celebrate and elevate the rich tapestry of Nepali heritage, fused with global musical influences.
Join us on this journey as we bring the sounds of Nepal to the world, creating a legacy of cultural harmony and creative innovation.
