Together, We Create
Mission
Our mission is to transform conflict and uncertainty into harmony, cultural exchange and hope by uniting people, sounds and ideas rooted in Nepal and resonant worldwide.
Vision
A world where any artist can share their heritage on any stage, and where music and art foster peace, inclusion and cross-cultural understanding.
Our Story
Late in 2022, guided by Gajendra Shahi’s long-held vision, he shared a bold idea with guitarist-arranger Nirvana Bista: “Let’s take Nepali music and culture all the way to a world stage like the Sydney Opera House.”
Early 2025 brought the first proof of concept. Legendary guitarist Hari Maharjan led a Nepali–Australian line-up, directed by Nirvana, in a Newa–jazz fusion concert in Kathmandu. The sold-out show confirmed how far Nepali sounds could travel.
Inspired by that impact, Gajendra proposed forming a dedicated production house to amplify this fusion on a global scale. Nirvana supplied a name he had considered for years, Sangam, meaning confluence, perfect for a company that brings diverse worlds together through music and storytelling.
When diverse voices share one stage with mutual respect, the music itself becomes a living message of peace that can circle the world.
Sangam Productions now holds the production rights to Culture in Sync and future projects, ensuring artists keep creative control while the company opens doors to international audiences. The first global step is Culture in Sync at the Sydney Opera House Studio on 19 June 2025, featuring Hari Maharjan, Nirvana Bista and an ensemble from Nepal, Australia, Mongolia, Iran and India. This is only the beginning; Sangam will continue creating experiences that celebrate and grow Nepali heritage for people everywhere to enjoy.
